If it’s a break to remember you’re after, getting trains to Devon could be just the ticket. The south-west of England is fortunate enough to boast both stunning natural scenery and a wide selection of attractions, so why not consider heading there yourself? We recommend taking a look at some of the following places if you get the chance:

Plymouth National Marine Aquarium
As the largest of its kind in the UK you’re sure to be amazed by the wide variety of underwater life on display at the Plymouth National Marine Aquarium. It’s a great place to find out more about the waters of the Plymouth Sound and beyond, with some fascinating displays and regular talks from experts. Keep your eyes peeled for sharks, crabs, jellyfish and more!

Teignworthy Brewery
If you enjoy a tipple a trip to Teignworthy Brewery, which is home to some of the region’s finest ales, is a must. It can be found in Newton Abbot and offers a total of nine bottled ales, as well as a selection of seasonal specials and cask ales, so there’s plenty to choose from! It could be the perfect place to pick up some boozy gifts and souvenirs too.

Haldon Forest Park
If you like the great outdoors take a trip to Haldon Forest Park, which offers 3,500 acres of woodland that’s perfect for exploring by bike or on foot. It’s great for kids too, as on routes such as the Discovery Trail they’re encouraged to engage with their surroundings.  If you’re feeling particularly energetic you could tackle Tarzan swing s, zip wires and more at Go Ape or hire a bicycle. You can even hop on a Segway for a unique way to enjoy the scenery! There’s also a café, which sounds like the ideal spot to take a break.

Watermouth Castle
This Victorian castle offers something for visitors of all ages, from beautiful gardens to fun rides for the kids. Several rooms inside the castle have been laid out in a Victorian style, providing you with a great opportunity to experience how might have look within its walls in those times. Once you’ve brushed up on your history you can explore the Dungeon Labyrinths, Gnome Land, Adventure Land and Merry-go-land or sit back and enjoy the Water Show Extravaganza.

With so much to offer in the region, buying train tickets to Devon could lead to a whole load of fun!
